‘The Social Network opened doors for me’

London: Singer-actor Justin Timberlake credits his role as Sean Parker in “The Social Network” with furthering his acting career.The ‘Sexy Back’ hitmaker landed several small film roles before appearing in the 2010 movie about Facebook.com founder Mark Zuckerberg, but he feels David Fincher’s drama properly launched him as an actor, reported Contactmusic.


“I’ll tell you what sort of changed things for me was literally when director David Fincher hired me. It did open up a huge door for me. And the opportunities started to happen,” he said.One opportunity Timberlake could not pass up was the lead role in Joel and Ethan Coen’s upcoming music movie “Inside Llewyn Davis”.

“Before we started working on that movie, I randomly ran into Matt Damon and he said something that stuck with me. He said, ‘You know the Coen brothers, that’s... a call that any actor, it doesn’t matter what age, you just hope that one day you get a shot at that.’ I was kind of blown away at that.“If I would’ve got a call from Joel and Ethan Coen saying, ‘Hey, we’d like you to write music and work on some music in our film,’ I would’ve peed in my pants.”

Meanwhile, Timberlake had earlier said that he finds President Barack Obama the coolest guy. Timberlake, who appeared on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’, talked about performing at the White House in May for the “In Performance at the White House: Memphis Soul” concert, reported E! News.

Bynes mentally unfit for trial, says lawyer

Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Amanda Bynes’ lawyer Rich Hutton says she is unable to appear for a trial as she is mentally unfit.The 27-year-old was scheduled to appear in the court for her driving under influence (DUI) arrest in West Hollywood back in April 2012, reports tmz.com. 

Hutton told the judge that Amanda did not have the mental capacity to understand the nature of the legal proceedings. The case has been transferred to the mental health court.The judge in that court will conduct a hearing to determine Amanda’s mental competency.Currently, the actress is going through a long-term treatment under a conservatorship. 

Kim gave me everything, says Kanye West

Los Angeles: Rapper Kanye West says that his socialite girlfriend Kim Kardashian gave him a support system and everything he ever wanted in life.The couple has been dating for over a year now and welcomed their first child, daughter North West, June 15.


“It’s like family time. That’s what Kim gave me. She gave me everything, she gave me family, she gave me a support system,” eonline.com quoted Kanye as saying.Kim, 32, known for reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, also runs her own business.

Kanye shoots down rumours that she got into a relationship with him for monetary benefit.“She was in a powerful enough situation where she could love me without asking me for money, which is really hard for me to find,” said Kanye.

I supported Demi Moore after her split: Miley Cyrus

London: Singer-actress Miley Cyrus claims she supported Demi Moore after her split from Ashton Kutcher. The ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker, who called off her engagement with Liam Hemsworth last week, said she is happy that she was able to support the 50-year-old actress on the set of their movie ‘LOL’ last year, shortly after Moore’s sudden split from Kutcher after six years of marriage, reported Contactmusic.

“That was dope, because I think we needed each other at that point. We both needed to get out of LA,” Cyrus said. The 20-year-old singer said that Moore in turn helped her to grow up and move on from her ‘Hannah Montana’ past.

“Detroit’s where I felt like I really grew up. It was only for a summer, but that’s where I started going to clubs, where I got my first tattoo.  Well, not my first tattoo, but my first without my mom’s consent. I got it on 8 Mile! I lied to the guy and told him I was 18. I got a heart on my finger and wore a Band-Aid for two months so my mom wouldn’t find out,” Miley Cyrus added.Cyrus is grabbing headlines these days for posing nude in her latest video.

I’ve taken my share of lashings: Chris Brown

Los Angeles: Rapper Chris Brown says he too had his share of problems and that he is a changed man now.In 2010, the 23-year-old condemned for physically assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna.

“You have to go through the struggle before you can get to the good part. I don’t try to lash out at people, or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be,” mirror.co.uk quoted Brown as saying.

“I got to the point where it’s only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I’ve taken my fair share of lashings,” he added.    The 24-year-old singer was criticised heavily after he assaulted his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, reported Herald Sun.    

Singer Mollie King wants to erase ‘first kiss’ memory

London: Singer Mollie King says given a chance she would like to erase the memory of her first kiss.This is so because the 26-year-old, member of The Saturdays band, feels that her first lip-locking experience was “awkward”.


“The first boy I kissed, maybe that would be erased. It was so awkward, he just pounced on me. I’d erase that memory,” Bliss magazine quoted Mollie as saying.She was recently romantically linked to music producer Jordan Omley and before that she was in a relationship with model David Gandy.  

Hurley upset with Warne over wedding date?

Los Angeles: Actress Elizabeth Hurley has reportedly broken off her engagement to Shane Warne because the former cricketer refused to set a wedding date.


Hurley, 48, wanted to set a wedding date and take their relationship to the next level but Warne was happy with the way things were going.

“She kept pushing for a date, but he was happy as things stood. She ended it furiously. She started to question whether Shane had any intention of marrying her,” the sun.co.uk quoted a source as saying.Hurley is disappointed with the way things have shaped up.

“She feels let down. They had big, big plans. She really thought she had found ‘the one’ in Shane. He could have easily saved the relationship by agreeing to a definite date,” said a source.The duo was dating for almost three years and got engaged less than a year later after dating.
